Meghan Dufresne received an accelerated master’s in architecture from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, and a bachelor’s in English with a minor in visual arts from Boston University. Her childhood experiences using a wheelchair have driven her into accessible design issues.
Before going into architecture, she worked in the publishing and educational industries, and was trained in writing, editing, medical terminology, web site design, and graphic design. She attended the University of Illinois on scholarship, working as the editor for the School of Architecture. Her research into restroom design has been recorded in the Congressional Record and published in several places, including the book Ladies and Gents: Public Toilets and Gender.
